Say Thank You

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.                        -Ephesians 4:6-7

The key to finding God’s peace lies in our “thank you”.  We find unworldly peace when we are able to thank God, even before we get our answers.  Thanking God right away says we trust him, and when our trust is strong in Him, we have peace.  That’s what our Amen means!  When we end our prayer with an Amen we are saying “yes”, yes to God’s ability to answer our prayers and help us in our need.  We don’t worry because we know God will do what’s right in our situation!  We agree with His promises from long ago to be with us in our trouble and give us the desires of our hearts as they align with His will.  

How often do you thank God for His provision in your life?  How often are you ending your prayers or even starting your prayers with a thank you in advance?  Paul tells us in this letter to the Ephesians that all we have to do is tell God what we need and thank Him.  He says, after this God’s peace will surpass anything we have ever experienced.
