The Light Of The World

You are the light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. -Matthew 5:14

Jesus’ words to us! We are the light of the world! No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house (Matthew 5:15). Our light is not for hiding but for shining light in the darkness and just like we have experienced this light when we’ve been in the dark, we are to be this light for others. Jesus chose us for this! He has told us what to do and He gives us the ability to do it. We each have our own gifts for shining our light, the importance isn’t how, it’s just that we do it. There are so many people living in darkness today. Go be a light! Any kind of light shined, whether its’ dim or bright, can light up a dark place, a dark thought or a dark circumstance. Go shine Jesus on those who need Him most.
